Overnight trains make a comeback

Our Paris-Nice offer rounds out our existing INTERCITÉS overnight lines: Paris–Rodez/Latour-de-Carol/Cerbère and Paris–Briançon. And by the end of 2021, we expect to launch 2 more overnight lines linking Paris to Vienna, Austria and to Tarbes in South-Western France.

We’re also planning to retrofit coaches and adapt our maintenance facilities for the Paris-Nice and Paris-Tarbes lines. These improvements will be carried out as part of France’s 2020 economic recovery plan, with €100 million from the French Agency for Transport Infrastructure Funding (AFITF).

Covid-19: Keeping you safe on our overnight trains

In response to the Covid-19 epidemic, we’re taking special care to protect you aboard our overnight trains:

  • trains are cleaned every day with the appropriate cleaning products
  • space between occupied couchettes allows for social distancing.

Please remember that you must wear a mask throughout your journey. In addition, occupancy of couchette compartments is limited to 4 passengers (down from the usual 6 in 2nd-class coaches), and pillows are placed at opposite ends of the upper and lower berths to maximize the distance between passengers. In coaches with reclining seats, only one in 2 seats is occupied.

We disinfect our trains between journeys, and areas that are in contact with passengers’ hands are disinfected regularly during each journey.
